Babies and young children
Do not add extra sugar to bottle feeds. Fruit drinks should be diluted and drunk quickly from a cup, not given in a bottle or comforter where they remain around the teeth for a long time. Dummies and comforters should not be dipped in sugar, honey or sugary drinks.
When the child is weaned try to develop a taste for fresh foods rather than the highly processed meals.
Remember young children require full-fat milk products, not the reduced fat types that are recommended for adults and older children.
